Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between HLTAID014 and HLTAID015?

HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid focuses on managing a first aid response, including incident management, casualty care and coordinating other first aiders. HLTAID015 Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy focuses on resuscitation using equipment such as oxygen, airway adjuncts and suction. Depending on their role, some responders may require both.

Are there prerequisites?

HLTAID015 completed on its own requires a current HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certificate. Participants who do not currently hold HLTAID011 can complete the combined HLTAID011 + HLTAID015 course. HLTAID014 and the combined course options do not have a listed prerequisite.

How does the online and face-to-face format work?

The theory component is completed online before attending the face-to-face practical session at our Collaroy training facility. The duration shown for each course refers to the face-to-face component only.

How often do these certificates need renewing?

Renewal every three years is the accepted industry recommendation, with the CPR component refreshed every 12 months in line with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines. Some industries and employers may require more frequent training.

Can you provide advanced first aid training at our workplace?

Yes. On-site training is available for workplaces across the Northern Beaches and greater Sydney. Where appropriate, training can incorporate your workplace's existing emergency and resuscitation equipment. Contact us to discuss group training.
